Jenny Wilson finds the greatest artistic inspiration from exploring the mysteries of nature and how they relate to the human spirit.
"The light and shadows that surround natural forms are analogous to the darks and lights of our human souls." says Wilson.
Wilson lives in Denver, Colorado. She and her husband, two daughters and their two chows spend their time enjoying music, art and Colorado's amazing outdoors. As a BFA graduate of Denver's Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, Wilson has shown widely in the region, at juried shows, galleries, and invitational exhibits. She studied with master artists at the Art Students League of Denver and has taught many workshops and classes.
According to Wilson, "Being an artist is all I know. I have always been drawn to art. It is my way to connect with something greater."
For Wilson, making art is a meditative process, steeped in the desire to create something beautiful and serene that will resonate with the viewer. Wilson works in acrylic, carefully applying layers until the work has a mysterious illuminated quality that evokes the atmospheric sense she seeks to convey.
"These layers evolve and change the painting which is very conceptual to me," Wilson concludes. "Time, light and illumination exist in our world and eventually these elements alter everything and everyone. My paintings become layered stories that have multiple interpretations."
Jenny Wilson's work is currently represented by Rue 32 Gallery located at 3478 West 32nd Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80211
