I find the greatest artistic inspiration from exploring the mysteries of nature and the human spirit and conveying these revelations through my work. The light and shadows that surround natural forms are analogous to the darks and lights of our human souls. I capture the expressive gestures of nature through color, texture, and shape. I build up thin layers of glaze to create spatial ambiguity and richness. My paintings become layered stories as they evolve and change throughout my process ironically resulting in a hidden mystery of multiple interpretations.
"Quiet Transformations" is my new body of work that has been inspired by the lights and shadows surrounding my soul over this past year. These paintings are the result of my daily reflections in action. They reveal personal chaos as serene, ethereal, and quiet compositions of naturel settings in an effort to apply the teachings of nature's healing process to that of my own spirit. I encourage my viewer's to explore their own journey through these mysterious landscapes and I thank all of those who have walked this journey with me. I must remember that for only today matters. Yesterday and tomorrow heal today!
